Dehydration

Rough, Dry, Flaky,
Congested

Dehydration is a sign that your skin in lacking water, and it's the first step in many skin problems. When your skin is dehydrated, certain enzymes stop working, causing a buildup of skin cells that can make your skin feel rough and dry. Dehydrated skin weakens the skin's protective barrier, making it more susceptible to irritation and inflammation. What the skin needs is to be rebuilt from the inside out, improving enzyme activity and improving the health of skin cells. The barrier needs to be protected while we improve skin function.

Inflammation

Redness, Irritation, Sensitivity

When dealing with inflammation in your skin, there are three important factors to consider. The skins barrier, immune system and capillary network. An impaired acid mantle can lead to irritants penetrating the skin too quickly, affecting the skin's pH and making it more susceptible to bacterial invasion. Overproduction of capillaries can hinder the delivery of oxygen and nutrients, slowing skin healing and potentially leading to increased redness. What the skin needs is strengthening. Firstly, building up the skin barrier, strengthening the immune system and then finally the capillary networks.

UV Damage

Brown Spots, Wrinkles, Uneven Texture

The brown spots you are seeing are melanin. Melanin production is your body's way to protect your skin cells from the sun. When you're in the sun, your brain tells a special gland to send out a helpful enzyme called Tyrosinase. This enzyme helps your skin cells to produce melanin to act like tiny hats, keeping your skin safe from the sun's harmful rays. If you're in the sun too long, your skin can get burnt, which means it's hurt. The more Melanosomes you have, the better your skin can handle the sun. But if something goes wrong, your skin might get dark patches (Hyperpigmentation) or lose its color (Hypo-pigmentation). Also, too much sun can make your skin get older faster because it breaks down important proteins. What this skin needs is most importantly to be protected from UV Rays constantly.
